Coleman Thermostat Wiring has remained consistent for decades so with a voltmeter you can easily determine a faulty thermostat on any single zone A/C system.
The thermostat wire can easy be checked by checking voltage at the thermostat between blue wire and any other color while calling for it's function (High fan, compressor ect.) and then rechecking the same wires at the A/C control board
